Police calls: Phone calls from jail are expensive

Monday, Nov. 4

9 a.m. A recently fired employee made threats toward the manager of a business on U.S. 93 South.

2:19 p.m. The suspect who allegedly stole an expensive bottle of champagne was back shopping at a store on Wisconsin Avenue.

4:40 p.m. Storage units on Lupfer Avenue were burglarized.

8:06 p.m. Report of a man and woman arguing on Central Avenue. The woman told the man to go home. The man said he wanted to cash out.

Tuesday, Nov. 5

6:39 a.m. A woman confronted a neighbor on Woodland Place about his car blocking her vehicle. The man answered the door with a gun and refused to move his vehicle.

Wednesday, Nov. 6

10:34 a.m. The door to a storage shed was kicked in on East 4th Street.

5:14 p.m. A homeless woman was seen walking down the middle of U.S. 93 West.

Thursday, Nov. 7

4:33 p.m. A woman said she was threatened by her apartment manger on Wisconsin Avenue. The manager allegedly put her wrist up and used swear words. The argument was over an eviction notice.

6:15 p.m. A man gave a woman $35 for a ride to Missoula. She said she had to go to work and never returned to give the man a ride.

Friday, Nov. 8

12:31 a.m. A man said he found drugs at his girlfriend’s apartment on Wisconsin Avenue.

4:54 p.m. Report of a large dog attacking other dogs in the park.

8:42 p.m. A man told police his teenage son came home smelling like marijuana after hanging out with a friend. Police spoke with the friend’s parents about the dangers of marijuana use among today’s youth.

Saturday, Nov. 9

5:53 a.m. An elderly woman in a trench coat was seen walking through a construction zone.

8:47 a.m. Report of an assault on Iowa Avenue. A woman alleged a man choked her and smashed her head on the ground. The two were having an argument over text messages found on a phone. The man was later arrested and taken to the Flathead County Detention Center.

4:16 p.m. Up to 14 kids were seen playing on the railroad tracks near the state park.

Sunday, Nov. 10

12:30 p.m. Report of a suspicious man with a mustache driving a white van who was talking to kids on Copperwood Court and taking photos of them.

4:42 p.m. A woman on Columbia Avenue reported possible fraud after she was charged $15 per minute to speak on the phone with her grandson who was in the Flathead County Detention Center. Police advised her that it is very expensive to make calls from jail.

4:48 p.m. A resident on Denver Avenue used binoculars to get a closer look at a suspicious SUV parked on the street. It was a person living in his vehicle. He was advised to move along.

10 p.m. A verbal disturbance was reported on West 8th Street.
