Hikers and bikers will have unrestricted access on Glacier National Park’s Going-to-the-Sun Road over the Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27.

On Friday, the Sun Road will be closed to hikers and bikers on the west side at Bird Woman Fall Overlook and on the east side at Siyeh Bend. But the road will be open all the way to Logan Pass on Saturday through Monday.

Park snowplow crews are working on the west side in the Slopes area about two miles from Logan Pass. They are past Siyeh Bend on the east side and moving toward No Stump Point.

Park campgrounds opening on Friday include Many Glacier, Rising Run and Two Medicine. Campground that were already open include Apgar, Bowman and Sprague Creek.

Both the Apgar and St. Mary visitor centers will open on Saturday, and many Park concessioners and privately owned facilities will begin offering visitor amenities.

The Camas, Bowman, Chief Mountain, Many Glacier and Two Medicine roads are open to motorized travel. The Inside North Fork Road is only open for eight miles between Polebridge and the head of Big Prairie. The Cut Bank Road is closed at the Park boundary.
