The Bigfork Farmers’ Market is now open at a new location.

The farmers’ market, which is open on Wednesdays and Sundays from early May through Oct. 16, is now at the Masonic Lodge parking lot on Montana 35 across from Harvest Foods. The market has been in operation at least 10 years, according to Helen Tobiason, market master for the Bigfork Farmers Cooperative that runs the operation. The market was previously at the Bigfork High School parking lot, but was relocated to provide better visibility, she said. The market is open to vendors who have items grown or produced in Flathead, Lake or Sanders counties.

Fruits, vegetables, flowers and arts and crafts are just some of the items available. Greens, radishes and onions will be available soon, Tobiason said. Next will be cherries, peas, green beans and wax beans, followed by potatoes, corn and squash. Last Wednesday, Al and Shelly Withal were offering 15 different jellies and jams at the market, while Cheryl Lowe had a variety of flowers, cacti and succulents available.

There is a $10 set-up fee for vendors who are not members of the cooperative.

Tobiason said the venue is also available for musicians and entertainers. Hours are 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Debit and credit cards are accepted along with food stamps. For information, call Ruby Dennison at 755-0650.
