Osborne takes second in the 200 at Archie Roe

The Columbia Falls track teams weren’t tops in scoring at the Archie Roe track meet in Kalispell on May 4, but they did get some athletes on the leader board.

Josiah Osborne led the way for the boys, taking second in the 200 meters at 23.40 and fourth in the 100 at 11.44. Osborne posted the times shortly after he had an awkward fall in the high jump, which had him limping off the course.

Luke Kazlauskas also had a good day, taking fourth in the 400 meters at 52.99. The boys took third in the 1,600 relay at 3:32.21. Nakia Alexander was third in the triple jump with a leap of 42-4.25. As a team, the boys took seventh.

On the girls side, Carla Nicosia placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 34-2.75. The girls took fifth in the 400 relay at 53.64 and sixth in the 1,600 relay at 4:25.01.

Haley Belgarde had one of her best throws of the season, taking third in the shot put with a throw of 35-3.25.

The Kats were without Samantha Mundel, who has been a solid long distance runner all season. She was suffering from an illness. The girls took eighth overall.

The teams have a dual against Glacier High School on Thursday and then travel to Polson to wrap up the regular season Saturday.

The teams also competed in the non-scoring Ken Goode Meet in Whitefish April 30. The results are below:
