Brown bag

Stacey Schnebel will present a talk on marketing that gets results and getting new leads at the Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce’s brown bag lunch at Freedom Bank in Columbia Falls on Thursday, March 21, at noon.

Book sale

The North Valley Senior Center, 205 Nucleus Avenue, Columbia Falls, will hold its annual book and puzzle sale on Friday and Saturday, March 22-23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 892-4087.

Library group

The Columbia Falls Library Association will resume their used book sales starting March 22 on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 39 Sixth Street West No. 2, one block east of Columbia Falls Branch Library. Community conversation

A three-hour workshop and community conversation for all ages called “100 Days Past Sandy Hook” will take place at the Flathead Valley Community College’s Arts & Technology Building on Tuesday, March 26, from 6-9 p.m. There will be an open discussion about how to create safety for everyone in the community. The Abbie Shelter is one of the sponsors.

Catholic kitchen

St. Richard’s Catholic Church will not offer free dinners this month at its community kitchen because of holy week.

Library fundraiser

The Flathead County Library Foundation’s fourth annual Loud at the Library fundraiser will take place at the main library in Kalispell on Thursday, March 21, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with live music by local musicians Donny and Kleist, catered food, beer and wine, raffle baskets, a door prize and a live auction. This year’s auction features library furniture painted by local artists, including six oak chairs, a bench and a small side table. Tickets are $30 each available at the main library. Coffee & music

The guitar, fiddle and mandolin trio Rachel Penner, Michael Atherton and Clara Wieck will perform bluegrass, folk and Irish music at Montana Coffee Traders in Columbia Falls on Friday, March 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. There is no cover charge.

FarmHands

A “Fork it Over” community night fundraiser to benefit the FarmHands map project will take place at the Three Forks Grill, 729 Nucleus Avenue, in Columbia Falls, on Monday, April 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. FarmHands is a small group of farmers and consumers committed to increasing public appreciation of farming in the Flathead Valley. Quilt show

The Teakettle Quilt Guild will hold their annual quilt show in the Glacier Gateway Elementary School gym on Saturday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. The show will have vendors, demonstrations and raffles. The featured quilter will be Gloria Day.

Book sale

The Kalispell branch of the American Association of University Women has set up donation barrels for good quality used books at Smith’s Foods in Columbia Falls for their annual book sale at the Kalispell Center Mall on April 12, 13 and 14. Creston auction

The 47th annual Creston Auction & Country Fair and the accompanying Auto, Marine, RV & Equipment Sale will be held in Creston on April 6-7. The auction is a fundraiser for the all-volunteer Creston Fire Department and is the largest spring event in Montana. Merchandise will be accepted for consignment on Friday, April 5, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Grounds open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and entrance is free. Bidding will start on Sunday at noon for cars, trucks, boats, recreational vehicles, tractors, farm equipment, trailers and other large items.
