Former Whitefish man sentenced for heroin charge

A former Whitefish man has been sentenced in Flathead District Court after allegedly possessing heroin and violating probation.
Tommy Holliday, 24, pleaded guilty Feb. 28 to felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and violation of probation.
Judge Heidi Ulbricht sentenced him to commitment with the state Department of Corrections for four years for violating probation. He was also sentenced to an additional four years, with all those suspended, for the drug charge.
According to court records, Holliday was found when Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of an unresponsive male at a Kalispell residence.
Deputies found what was thought to be heroin in a jewel bag, five syringes and a spoon containing heroin all in the room. The Montana State Crime Lab later confirmed the presence of heroin.
In the previous case, Holliday pleaded guilty to felony burglary and was placed on probation. He then allegedly violated the terms of probation by not notifying his probation officer when he moved and for drinking alcohol.
The charges in the case stem from an incident in which Holliday allegedly broke into a home and took prescription drugs, a laptop bag and lock box.
