Wayne Bengtson

Wayne Charles Bengtson, 42, passed away March 8, 2013, at his home in West Glacier.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1971, in Whitefish, the son of Charles and Susan Bengtson.

He worked for the Glacier National Park Service as a heavy equipment operator, at his family owned excavation business, for the state highway department and with Jordt Logging as a sawyer and equipment operator.

He is survived by his wife Lindsey and son Colter; parents Charles and Susan Bengtson; eight brothers and sisters, Theresa McClure, husband Greg and their children Michael and Natasha, Michelle, Lynn, Bill Bengtson and wife Theresa, Luke, Cheryl, Faith, husband Russell Yerian and children Wyatt and Quinn, and Suzanne and husband Luke Warner; mother-in-law Liz Calkins; brother-in-law Jason Calkins; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and godparents Thad and Brenda Jordt.

Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, in Whitefish, on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. As per Wayne’s wishes, his ashes will be spread at his favorite hunting spot.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Colter’s college fund at Edward Jones in Columbia Falls.
