Bigfork residents looking to make an impact on how the Bigfork School District functions have an opportunity to do so by running for the school board this spring.

Two positions are up for re-election, each for three-year terms.

Current trustees Thaddeus Jordt’s and Mike Roessmann’s terms expire in May. As of Thursday, Seth Campbell is the only person to petition for election, according to district clerk Eda Taylor. Taylor also said another person is planning on running but hasn’t officially filed yet.

Those interested in running for the school board need to have their paperwork filled out and turned in to the district office by March 28 at 4 p.m. Forms can be picked up at the district office or at bigfork schools.org by going to the “Administration” section and selecting “School Elections.”

Candidates must be residents of the Bigfork Elementary School district since Bigfork High School is also for students from Swan River School and some of Somers Middle School.

Election Day is scheduled for May 7.
