Chili Feed

The Bigfork Rotary Club’s annual chili feed fundraiser and bicycle raffle to extend the Swan River bike path from Bigfork to Swan River School will be held at The Garden Bar on March 15 from 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and $25 for families of two adults and two children under 10 years old.

All proceeds go toward constructing the bike path. Tickets are available at Nancy O’s and The Jug Tree or from local Rotarians.

Wildfire Speaker

Rick Trembath will give a speech about wildfire safety at the Bigfork Emergency Response Team’s free monthly meeting at Bigfork Middle School on March 21 from 7-8 p.m.

Trembath, past Bigfork fire chief, will give a presentation related to the risk of wildfire to homes in the greater Bigfork area. This comes as a result of working for the Bigfork Fire District on implementing a grant for private property owner wildfire risk reduction.

Relay for Life Kickoff

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life kick-off will be at the Fairgrounds in Kalispell on March 23 from 4-7 p.m. The evening includes a spaghetti dinner, Monte Carlo Night, and live auction. Bingo and kids activities will also be held.

Volunteers needed for Bigfork Relay for Life

Bigfork Relay for Life is seeking volunteers. Their next meeting is set for March 11 at 5:15 p.m. at Glacier Bank.

Anthony Kuechmann Family Benefit

A fundraiser for the Kuechmann family will be held at the Tall Pine Lounge on March 24 from 1-5 p.m.

Anthony was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer four years ago and all funds raised will go toward helping the Kuechmann family.

The fundraiser will include a dinner, silent auction, raffles, door prizes, and a sale table.

Bigfork Baseball

Bigfork Baseball sign ups will be held on March 12 at Bigfork Elementary School from 3-5 p.m. and at Swan River School from 6-7:30 p.m.

A Neighbor Day fundraiser at Dairy Queen for the Bigfork Baseball program will be held on April 29.

Glacier Baseball registration

Glacier Babe Ruth is taking registrations for the 2013 season.

The league is for baseball players ages 13-15 from all over the Flathead Valley.

Registration forms need to be turned in by March 15. They are available online at http://glacierbaberuth.org. Mail completed online forms to: P.O. Box 1079, Columbia Falls, MT 59912.

Swan River School eighth grade seeks funding for annual History Trip

Swan River School’s eighth-grade class is seeking donations for their annual History Trip on May 21-24. During this trip, SRS students will visit historical sites around the state including: Helena, Deer Lodge, Virginia City and Yellowstone.

Donations will be put into a raffle, silent auction or spaghetti dinner. All the money raised from the donations will help pay for the students’ entrance fees to state parks, tours, meals, and lodging.

The spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be April 19 from 5-7 p.m. in the SRS cafeteria.

Bigfork Middle School D.C. Trip seeks funding

Bigfork Middle School students are seeking donations for their annual trip to Washington D.C. on April 21. It costs $1,857 per student to go, and BMS has 38 students signed up and not all of them can afford it.

While touring the Capitol with the Close Up program, BMS students will debate with students from across the country, participate in workshops, and experience U.S. government in action.

To donate online directly to Bigfork’s Close Up trip to Washington D.C., go to www.closeup.com and click on the “Donors” link on the right side of the page, then go to “support a school,” then “select a school,” and enter MT017 for the school’s ID.

Bet Harim to host Passover Seder

Bet Harim will celebrate Passover on March 25 at the Multi-Faith Center at Shining Mountains Center, 475 Eighth Ave. EN, in Kalispell.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. and Seder will begin at 5:30 p.m.

A special Haggadah has been written for the occasion to make it interesting for children and adults.
