Lakeside Baptist has begun a “Journey to the Cross.”

The church is offering a Sunday series throughout the month of March to help folks identify with Christ and His journey to the cross.

“We’ve really put a month-long emphasis on this,” Lakeside Baptist Pastor Dan McNeese said.

Culminating with Resurrection Sunday on March 31, the Lakeside church is offering the series at 10 a.m. each Sunday.

McNeese said previous year’s haven’t typically had so many activities planned.

“This is one of the most important times of the year for us,” McNeese said. “I just felt like this was an important time to share the power of the resurrection.

Topics include: The love of the Heavenly Father; Christ’s agonizing prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane; His Betrayal, walk to Calvary, crucifiction, burial, resurrection, 40 days of revealing Himself; the resurrected Christ, His ascension, and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The series also includes a viewing of “The Passion of the Christ” at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 29.

A sunrise service will be held in the church yard at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, followed by a brunch at 9 a.m., Bible study at 10 a.m., and a Resurrection Celebration at 11 a.m.

Kids activities and a nursery will be provided for the movie and on Sunday mornings.

All are welcome to attend.
