Fern Wilson

Fern G. Wilson, 91, passed away Feb. 24, 2013, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Bend, Ore., where she attended school, graduating from Bend High School.

In 1945, she married Jason E. Ramberg Sr., in Astoria, Ore. She later married Boyd Wilson on June 8, 2003, in Newport, Ore.

Fern was self-employed at a novelty gift shop on the bayfront in Newport. She was president of the Chamber of Commerce and served on the Lincoln County Planning Commission. She was named Woman of the Year in Newport and was also the recipient of the Dr. J.R. Bailey Award in the community.

Fern is survived by her son Richard Wilson and his partner Brian Beneat, of North Hollywood Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Lindsay and Melvin Clark, of Logsden, Ore.; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Julie Ramberg, of Columbia Falls; son and daughter-in-law Jack and Patti Hill, of Kodiak, Alaska; and son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Ellie Hill, of Newport; grandchildren Adam Clark, Kelly Clark and Kim Lynch of Logsden, Chase Ramberg of Columbia Falls, Toni Marshall and Linda Allen of Shelton, Wash., Tricia Krug and Tiffany Williamson of Kodiak, Josh Hill of Portland, and Angie Ohmann of Vancouver, Wash.; and 16 great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held March 6, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newport. Burial took place in Eureka Cemetery in Newport.
