A 64-year old man from Washington state died June 26 from a fall along the Going-to-the-Sun Road near the Rimrocks area, about a mile west of Logan Pass.

Witnesses said they saw Charles Huseman, of Packwood, Wash., hiking alone on the Highline Trail. The trail runs above steep rocky cliffs that border the Sun Road in that area and is closed because of steep snow. Witnesses said Huseman slipped and fell about 100 feet onto the Sun Road.

Park dispatch received a report from a Park ranger about 3:40 p.m. requesting emergency medical assistance in the Rimrocks area. The ranger administered CPR and utilized an automated external defibrillator with the assistance of local bystanders.

Huseman was declared deceased at the scene, and the body was transferred to the Flathead County coroner.
