C-Falls swim team takes 2nd at home meet

Several Columbia Falls swimmers took first-place finishes at the Columbia Falls swim meet on June 22-23. As a team, the Wildcats took second.

Tyler Langton had an outstanding meet — he won all the preliminary races he entered as well as the finals. He won the 50 and 100 freestyle and 50 butterfly with times of 36.15, 52.72 and 1:25.6.

Bubba Loyda also swept his events, taking first in the 200 intermediate medley, the 100 freestyle and 50 butterfly. His times were 3:08.11, 1:08.63 and 35.80 respectively.

Several others took home gold. Cooper Babcock was first in the 50 backstroke atf 51.7; Bryce Dunham took first 25 freestyle at 18.69 and first in the 25 backstroke with a 26.3; Zayne Friar won the 50 butterfly with a 31.77; Kyle King won the 50 freestyle at 57.01; Garrett Role was tops in the 100 breast stroke at 1:26.98; and James Role was first in the 100 intermediate medley at 2:09.63.

Jessica Loyda was first in the 50 freestyle at 31.44. She was the top girl placing at the meet. The team travels to Chester this weekend.
