Police calls: burglars nab perfume, body spray, sweater

Monday, June 3

7:39 a.m. The postmaster reported Post Office boxes that were vandalized.

Tuesday, June 4

12:33 p.m. Two boys on Waverly Place allegedly shot another boy with a BB gun. The victims reportedly had marks on his legs where he was shot.

1:42 p.m. A woman reported $20,000 worth of furniture was stolen from her apartment on Willow Brook Close. She said she had called her lawyer. Police advised her this is a civil issue.

8:11 p.m. A piece of equipment was reported stolen from a lawn on Miles Avenue.

Wednesday, June 5

11:45 a.m. A woman said her ex called and hung up on her five times in the same morning.

3:50 p.m. A suspicious man wearing goggles was seen walking the alley behind Columbia Avenue.

8:14 p.m. A group of guys were stenciling the curb on Texas Avenue. They were with a youth group.

11:34 p.m. A laptop, perfumes and body sprays were reported stolen from a home on Columbia Avenue.

Thursday, June 6

1:41 p.m. A group of people were drinking and playing music at City Beach. They poured out their drinks after being advised no alcohol is allowed at the beach.

11:55 p.m. An assault was reported at a bar on Baker Avenue. A woman was taken to the hospital for stitches. Police were searching for an alleged suspect with a tattoo on his neck. The suspect was later spotted at another bar downtown.

Friday, June 7

5:45 a.m. A resident on Minnesota Avenue reported hearing a woman screaming in pain. It was a verbal dispute between a man and woman.

7:18 a.m. Graffiti was reported at the skate park. A bunch of paint cans were left behind.

1:41 p.m. A resident was concerned about kids painting numbers and flags on the curb then asking for money.

5:36 p.m. An employee at a Spokane Avenue restaurant was reported as selling marijuana to kids. The drug task force was advised.

8:44 p.m. Police talked to a loud man on Central Avenue and told him to “cool it or go home.”

11:16 p.m. Suspicious people with flashlights were walking around a house on Brimstone Drive. A neighbor snuck over and watched them from a trail and heard them say, “We need to get this [stuff].” Police investigated and found a sprinkler contractor adjusting the timers.

Saturday, June 8

12:11 p.m. Two men broke items at a bar downtown.

2:29 p.m. Report of a man yelling at his daughter and getting into her face. The girl was approximately 2 or 3 years old.

4:35 p.m. A sweater was stolen from a vehicle on East 2nd Street.

Sunday, June 9

1:47 a.m. Three men threw a picnic table into the pond at Depot Park.

6:20 p.m. A man with tattoos threatened a family. He said he was going to come over with guns and friends. He was angry about his ex-wife being friends with another man.

7:54 p.m. A man was arrested for disorderly conduct after his wife alleged she was beat up.
