Plein Air Paint Out

The Hockaday Museum of Art will have its annual Plein Air Paint Out  June 19-21 where participating artists are given the freedom to choose their painting location within a 50-mile radius of the museum.  During the three days, artists will create as many paintings as they can, with those works being sold to benefit the museum. The event is now in its sixth year.

The Hockaday’s Plein Air Paint Out attracts top artistic talent and artists are juried into the event by a local panel representing diverse art-related backgrounds.  The artists in the Hockaday’s Paint Out this year include Rob Akey, Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey, Elaine Davis, Marsha Davis, Merrily Dunham, Keith Filler, George Garrity, Margaret Graziano, Betsey Hurd, Allen Jimmerson, Mary Kelley, Thomas G. Lewis, Jeff Manion, Robert Marceau, Jennifer McClellan, Patrick McClellan, Dave Mihalic, Wanda Mumm, Natalie Norrell, Nicholas Oberling, Mark Ogle, Robert Spannring, Rebecca Strenge, Janet Sullivan, Linda Tippetts and Ron Ukrainetz.

The Hockaday’s 2013 Plein Air Paint Out Party and Sale will be outside the museum June 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free and guests may purchase art at fixed prices.

Following the sale, works from the Plein Air Paint Out will be on exhibit and for sale at the Hockaday June 27-Aug. 24.
