2nd Annual “Sentimental Journey” Big Band Dinner Dance

| June 5, 2013 1:13 PM

The Sentimental Journey Dinner Dance will be June 15 at the hangar of Ray and Ladeine Thompson at Glacier National Airport.

Sentimental Journey is a stroll down memory lane to Big Band music of yesteryear played by the Don Lawrence Orchestra, and a delicious prime rib dinner catered by the incomparable Vista Linda.  The event will deliver a uniquely patriotic setting surrounded by vintage WWII and Korean-era fighter planes surrounded by friends and guests from every era of our history since WWII.

Local Bigfork resident and singer Tonja King will perform “God Bless America” and other sing-along patriotic songs and guests are invited to get up close to a trio of vintage airplanes including an AT-6 “Harvard”, an F4U “Corsair” and a Travel Air inside the hangar that night.  It promises to be a well-named evening for enjoying friends, good food and having some good, old-fashioned fun.

Auction items will include once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to bid for a ride in one of the historic planes and other hard-to-find gifts and prizes.
