LaVerne Steffes

LaVerne Steffes, 87, passed away May 27, 2013, at Timber Creek Villages in Columbia Falls.

She was born June 23, 1925, in Opstead, Minn., to Jonas and Isabelle Johnson.

She married Donald Steffes and they raised eight children, Jim, David, Tom, Cheryl, Linda, Nancy, Karen and Bobby.

LaVerne worked much of her life cooking in restaurants and hospitals. When she retired, she returned to Montana and enjoyed traveling, sewing and many other hobbies. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Nancy and grandson Mark.

She is survived by her childrenJim and wife Sandy, of Sun City, Calif., David and wife Melody, of Waite Park, Minn., Tom, of Henderson, Md., Cheryl, of St. Cloud, Minn., Linda, of Kalispell, Karen and husband Dale, of Hungry Horse, and Robert wife Dewi, of Hungry Horse; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.   

A memorial service was held May 31, 2013, at Timber Creek Village in Columbia Falls.
