| July 30, 2013 10:35 AM

Agnes Laura Gingery, of Kalispell, passed away July 25, 2013, a few days past her 93rd birthday and a birthday trip to her beloved Glacier National Park.

She was born July 21, 1920, to Harve and Laura Fowler in Hillside, Colo., and grew up and attended schools in Buena Vista, Colo., along with her 10 brothers and sisters.

She married Maurice (Morey) Gingery on Aug. 14, 1937, and they had been married 56 years when Morey passed away in 1993. Morey’s career with the National Park Service afforded them the privilege of living in Rocky Mountain National Park and Glacier National Park.

Agnes and Morey were the proud parents of two sons, Marshall and Gary. While living in Colorado, Agnes was employed by Bell Telephone, and after moving to Glacier Park in 1953, she was employed by the West Glacier Mercantile for 27 summer seasons.

Morey and Agnes retired in 1980 and moved to Kalispell to be able to continue their visits to Glacier Park. The Park’s roads and trails were well known and an integral part of the lives of Agnes and all of her family.

Agnes and Morey enjoyed many trips to various parts of the country to visit their children and grandchildren and always arrived with a long list of what they hoped to experience while visiting that area.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Maurice and an infant son Keith.

She is survived by her sons Marshall and wife Elaine and Gary, both of Helena; grandchildren Christine Payne, of Midlothian, Va., Marsha Demaree, of Marriottsville, Md., Keith Gingery, of Jackson, Wyo., Anne Gingery, of Rochester, Minn., Elizabeth Jankowski, of Helena, Matthew Gingery, of Helena, Susan Gingery, of St. Paul, Minn., and David Gingery, of Minneapolis; and 14 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Agnes was held at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home on July 29, 2013, with Rev. Miriam Mauritzen officiating. Burial immediately followed in Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Education Ministry of First Presbyterian Church, 540 South Main, Kalispell MT 59901.
