The Glacier League All-Star Team captured the Montana State 13-year-old Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament title on July 14 after beating rival Kalispell 7-4.

Glacier came into the final day with a 3-0 record after defeating Helena 15-3, Glendive 15-5 and Kalispell 3-2.

Kalispell battled back through the losers bracket on the final day to face Glacier in the championship game.

Kalispell won the first game 5-4, forcing a second title contest in the double-elimination event.

Hunter Watterud started on the mound and went two innings for Glacier in the final game. Jackson Marciniak pitched one inning, and Skylar Warner pitched the last four innings.

Kalispell led 1-0 after two innings, but Glacier went up for good in the third inning, 2-1.

Glacier’s Logan Kolodejchuk tripled in the sixth to score Max Smyley, giving Glacier a 7-3 advantage.

“A good team effort hitting all weekend,” Glacier coach Chad Green said. “Skylar Warner’s pitching was phenomenal. He stepped up big this weekend.”

Glacier advances to Babe Ruth Regionals on July 28 to Aug. 3 in Centralia, Wash.
