UM graduates

The University of Montana reported 985 students with degree candidates for the 2012 autumn semester, including 72 certificates, 142 associate degrees, seven education specialists, 544 bachelor’s degrees, 162 master’s degrees, two juris doctorates, 56 doctoral degrees and 67 double degrees. Local students include, Columbia Falls — Alyssa Cusick, B.A. Social Work; Jordan Gentry, B.S.B.A.D. Management; Jennifer Johnson, A.A. Health and Human Performance; Maya Negron, B.A. Social Work; and East Glacier Park — Dylan DesRosier, B.A. Environmental Studies.

MSU honor roll

The following students were named to its 2012 fall semester honor rolls at Montana State University-Bozeman The dean’s list includes the 2,646 students earning grade point averages of 3.5 or above for the semester. An asterisk follows the names of the 710 students with a perfect 4.0 grade point average named to the president’s list. Columbia Falls — Lori Church, Jason Creighton*, Margaret Frankino*, Ian Gordon, Joseph Gross, Valerian Kryshak, Melissa Livingston, Travis Province, Joshua Robbins, Aric Tarr, Austin Wargo and Hilary Welsh. Airmen graduate

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Cody Elek, a 2010 graduate of Columbia Falls High School, and Air Force Airman Travis Gallegos, a 2008 graduate of Columbia Falls High School, recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas. They completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
