Believing in global warming doesn't mean it's true

I was reading the Feb. 20 Bigfork Eagle and noticed a “letter to the editor” about Reichner and Blasdel trying to change the face of Montana written by Edd Blackler.

Then I looked at the front page and saw an article about climate change awareness in which Edd Blackler was involved. What Scott Reichner is doing in the House of Representatives is commendable to say the least.

I did notice though that Blackler left out an issue about funding campaigns and candidates that is equally as important as how the GOP is funded and that is union funding. Most union jobs require you to pay dues if you want to work. If that money was used just to protect workers there would not be a problem, however when you are forced to pay up and huge amounts go to the liberal party without the consent of the person forced to pay it, it borders on corruption.

Our representatives need to seriously work on making Montana a right to work state. Edd should have mentioned that. The companies donating to political campaigns are doing it willingly, but the union involvement is money forced from members who may not agree with the liberal agenda.

I believe Reichner and Blasdel were elected by overwhelming numbers and Blackler lost. Had Edd won I would venture a guess that he would use his vision to change the face of Montana and it might look like an environmental activist agenda. I am not saying that is wrong, just making a guess after reading about the big protest he was involved in about man-made global warming.

This leads to a few observations I made reading the article about the global warming awareness story. One of the “facts” from Dave Hadden was stated, “We’re doing pretty well. I think about 50 percent of Bigfork supports us.”

There were 15 protesters and what is the population of the Bigfork area? I seriously doubt his statement and suppose he used his poll, which included, “We’ve had one finger, one go back to California, one thumbs up, and a honk.” If the honk was actually disapproval, meaning get out of my way, this poll drops him to 25 percent, and if the thumbs up could have meant up the kazoo, the approval rating goes to zero percent, correct?

These scientific methods lack accuracy sometimes.

Further along in the article it is stated “of those surveyed, 97 percent of climatologists believe humans play a role, while 47 percent of petroleum geologists and 64 percent of meteorologists believed humans are a factor.”

I see the words “believe” and “believed” meaning what? They don’t know! Now that is a fact! To “believe” something does not make any of their statements a fact or any of them an “expert.”

Most people do not doubt there may be global warming which is regulated by the sun and 86.6 percent think man-made global warming is simply a money making scheme of Al Gore believers.....OK I made up the percentage, but was trying out the liberal scientific method, sorry.

It is fun though, compared to actually looking for facts that are proven... Is it an issue worth fighting about? Think about it. Montana could be the new California in years ahead with Flathead Lake the new ocean frontage. We are further ahead to put on those Hawaiian shorts and enjoy life while we can.

And frankly, even if 100 percent of Bigfork, yes all 30 of us, believed as hard as we can believe that global warming is fixable, would we be able to convince Al Gore to walk to his next protest and sell his mansions and jets and even his 9-foot green energy electric auto? Picture big Al walking to protests!!!

Come on, gentlemen, start your engines and let’s blast off to sunny downtown Bigfork. Being warm in February is not something to grumble about...
