Dean’s lists

• The following area students were recognized at Montana Tech in Butte for the fall semester 2012. Chancellor’s Honor Roll, 4.0 GPA, Kelsey DeWit, Columbia Falls, and Brandon Hackman, West Glacier; Dean’s List, 3.5 GPA, Cody Burghduff, Kelsey DeWit and Nicholas Riley, Columbia Falls, and Brandon Hackman, West Glacier; Honor Roll, 3.25 GPA, Cody Burghduff, Kelsey DeWit and Nicholas Riley, Columbia Falls, and Brandon Hackman, West Glacier.

• Suzanne Johnston, of Columbia Falls, was named to the spring President’s Honor Roll at the University of Great Falls in Great Falls for students with a 4.0 grade point average.

• Kylie Rocker, of Columbia Falls, was named to the spring semester Dean’s List at the University of Great Falls in Great Falls for students with a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

Writing contest

The Authors of the Flathead is sponsoring the 2013 High School Student Writing Contest for students in grades 9-12. Students can win $300, $200 and $100 for short stories and $125, $75 and $50 for poems. Mail works to 2013 Student Writing Contest, Authors of the Flathead, P.O. Box 7711, Kalispell MT 59904-0711.
