Whitefish wrestler Judah Prestegaard took third place at the Buzz Lucey Invitational in Eureka on Saturday to lead the Bulldogs to a solid sixth-place finish.

Wrestling at 138 pounds, Prestegaard defeated Chase Ramberg of Columbia Falls in a 5-3 decision to make the podium.

“Judah was on his game last week,” Whitefish coach Ryan Boyle said.

James Buckley took fourth at 113 pounds and Steven Quimby took fourth at 285 pounds.

Buckley has placed in three tournaments this year.

“His mind set is to work hard and place at every tournament,” Boyle said.

Boyle also noted wrestlers Matt Sampson and Travis Catina.

“We’re getting some confidence and believing in ourselves,” Boyle said.

The coach said they amped up the intensity of practice sessions last week as the team prepares for the remainder of the season.

“We can be better than we are,” Boyle said. “They’re all searching for that extra gear, hopefully we can find it.”

Whitefish tallied 66 1/2 points to finish in sixth out of 11 teams. Columbia Falls won the tourney with 269 points.
