Glacier Nordic Club is now accepting memberships for the upcoming ski season.

Memberships support grooming operations on the Nordic trails at Whitefish Lake Golf Course and the Big Mountain Nordic trails at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Memberships may be purchased at the club’s annual potluck dinner and auction on Dec. 7, by mailing in a payment and application downloaded fromglaciernordicclub.com, or at the Glacier Nordic Club kiosk at the Golf Course.

Early-bird memberships are available for purchase through Dec. 7 at $100 for a family or $50 for an individual. Memberships purchased after Dec. 7 are $110 for a family or $55 for an individual.

Either a membership or a day pass is required to ski at Whitefish Lake Golf Course. Day passes are available at either the kiosk or Glacier Cyclery’s Nordic Shop.

Beginning in December, the Prep Team — ages 10 to 13 — meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to learn and refine classic and skate ski techniques through fun games and on varied terrain. Skiers may choose to race in local and regional races. The cost is $235.

The Chet Hope Youth League for ages 4 to 12 and the Junior Jets for ages 7 to 11 both begin in January.

The Chet Hope League meets for seven Saturdays beginning Jan. 11, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $40 for members and $45 for non-members.

Junior Jets runs from Jan. 7 through early March on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Jets learn to skate and classic ski and improve their technique though fun games. The cost is $135.

Gear rentals are available for all programs. Scholarships are available for the Junior Jets and Chet Hope Youth League. All programs meet at the Glacier Nordic Center at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course, snow permitting. Registration forms may be found at schools and local sports shops or at glaciernordicclub.com or call 291-9188.
