Job well done

| August 27, 2013 8:27 AM

On behalf of Montana Babe Ruth Baseball, I am writing to commend the Glacier Babe Ruth League and tournament director Kathy Wetsch for a job well done hosting the 13-15 State Tournament a couple of weeks go.

To my knowledge, this was Kathy’s first run at this role, and she handled it with superb organization, patience and an ever positive attitude.

Kathy, you are too good a volunteer to lose just because your son is moving up to the next level of baseball in 2014. The Glacier Babe Ruth League could use your help with the 14U Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament next summer.

Of course, Kathy was the coordinator for several other valuable volunteers for whom I am equally grateful. Scorekeepers, field crews, announcers, concession operators and others make these events memorable, and in fact even possible.

It was a fantastic extended weekend punctuated by the most incredible championship game finish in my memory. (Chris Park, Babe Ruth catch of the year.) Thank you all. It was a privilege for me to just be a small part of it.
