It's Easy to Be Hydrated and Green With Biodegradable Water Bottles

In addition, the BioSphere plastic does not fragment into pieces during the biodegrading process, and it is shelf-stable, giving it an advantage over other plastic additives, according to the company website.

"The qualifications in order to be considered biodegradable are that the material must be scientifically proven to break down completely and return to nature in a short time frame," BioSphere notes on its website.

Results of a scientific study of BioSphere showed that the plastic had biodegraded by almost one-third after 30 weeks, which was considered a good rate by the testing company.
