Homer Bruce

Homer Alexander “Al” Bruce, 64, passed away Aug. 13, 2013, in Hungry Horse.

He was born July 23, 1949, in Los Angeles, the son of Ernest Bruce and Nora (Davis) Bruce.

Al went to college and earned a bachelor of arts degree and had three-quarters of his bachelor of science degree. He served in the Air Force for six years and was honorably discharged.

He and his wife Bea were married 40 years. They left California and moved to  Whitefish and then Martin City.

Al was the head custodian for Whitefish schools, where he worked for 25 years, retiring in January 2013.

He  is survived by his wife Beatrice Bruce, of Martin City, brother William Bruce and sister Nora, of California.

Services will be held at Columbia Mortuary, 1010 Fourth Avenue West, in Columbia Falls, on Friday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m., with a military honors graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. A reception will follow at Whitefish Middle School, 15 Spokane Avenue, in Whitefish.
