Senior runner Logan Harwood overcame blustery conditions to post an impressive day on the track at last week’s Flathead Time Trials in Kalispell.

The senior won the 400 with a 51.27, a time that’s good enough to qualify for state. He also helped the Bulldog 400 relay team (Sean Foley, Luke Cardon, Iaian Cameron, Logan Harwood) post the day’s fastest time and qualify for state with a 44.74.

His time in the individual 400 was more than a second faster than the next best finisher.

“That’s a nice 400 time for this early in the season,” Whitefish coach Derek Schulz said. “He has a ways to go and will only get faster.”

Schulz was also impressed with both the girls and boys 800 times.

Sarah Latcham won the 800 with a 2:42.04, while Luke Cardon took third place with a 2:07.76.

“I’m excited about those times,” Schulz said. “The conditions were blustery and cold. A good time in those conditions is definitely good.”

Senior Jace Kalbfleisch was strong in the 3,200 with a 10:45.21, good enough for second place at the meet.

Keaton Grove grabbed second in the 110 hurdles with a 16.45, and took third in the 300 hurdles with a 43.71.

Foley and E.J. Havens finished second and third, respectively, in the pole vault. Foley cleared 13-0, while Havens went for 12-0.

Foley was also third in the long jump with a 19-5. He has already qualified for state in long jump and pole vault.

Lady Bulldog sprinter Marlow Schulz posted the top time in the 400 at 1:01.45, three seconds ahead of second-place finisher Claudia Hewston, of Polson.

Freshman Allie Schulz grabbed third in the 100 sprint at 13.49.

The Lady Dogs 1,600 relay team won it with a 4:24.94, nearly four seconds ahead of Flathead. The 400 relay team was second at 52.36.

In the field, Eviann Reynolds tossed the javelin 96-3 for third place overall.

Teams in attendance included Flathead, Glacier, Bigfork, Libby, Cut Bank, Columbia Falls, Browning, Eureka, Whitefish and Polson.

Whitefish competed at Columbia Falls on Tuesday and will travel to Libby on Saturday.
