Being prepared is topic of April 18 talk

| April 17, 2013 10:10 AM

Wayne Loffler, Bigfork Fire Chief will talk about 72-hour emergency kits April 18 at 7 p.m. at the Bigfork Elementary School Cafeteria.

Loeffler will speak at the Bigfork Emergency Response Team’s monthly preparedness meeting. Jenny Jarvis will join Loeffler to explain what goes in a portable kit, which is sometimes called a bug-out bag.

The purpose of a bug-out bag is to allow you to evacuate quickly if a disaster should strike, according to Bruce Nelson of the Bigfork Emergency Response Team.  The organization will have its Preparedness Fair May 18 at Bigfork High School.  Booths are free and attendance is free. The organization is looking for people who would have a booth or be a speaker on preparedness. Call at 253-8041 if interested.
