Lady Dogs pick up two wins
The points keep piling up for these Lady Bulldogs.
Whitefish’s girls soccer team picked a pair of victories last week in impressive fashion, dominating conference foe Libby in a 13-2 romp, then getting a little revenge on Hamilton with an easy 4-1 win.
Youth led the way this week.
At home Saturday, the Lady Dogs came out firing against a Hamilton team that bounced Whitefish from the state playoffs last year in a heartbreaking overtime shootout. Sophomore Jessica Baldonado and freshman Anna Peterson each scored twice as Whitefish cruised.
A nice pass from junior Caroline Carbo set up Baldonado’s second goal. Baldonado took Hamilton’s keeper one-on-one and sailed a shot into the back of the net from 15 yards out.
At Libby, the Loggers were simply outmatched by the Lady Dogs offensive prowess.
Hat tricks by freshman Cassidy Grady and Callie Ling led the way.
Peterson added two goals, while Addie Elm and Nikita Packard each tallied once to round out the barrage of points from a deep pool of freshman talent.
Veterans Megan Danczyk, Carbo and Becca Holdhusen each scored, as well.
Whitefish travels east this week to take on Park High in Livingston and Belgrade.
