Whitefish looks to be as good as advertised.

The Bulldogs boys soccer team picked up a pair of wins last week by topping Libby on the road and Hamilton at home to improve their overall record to 3-0, each victory coming by a shutout. They have outscored their opponents this year 16-0.

Whitefish coach O’Brien Byrd called the Dogs’ team defense “smothering” and “very cohesive” which in turn is setting up plenty of scoring chances.

Saturday at their home opener, seniors Sam Donaldson and Sean Janni led the way with two goals each. Donaldson set the tone early with scores in the 15th and 18th minutes. Janni added his first in the 38th and tallied again in the 56th.

Whitefish was in control of the pitch from the first whistle, leaving Hamilton searching for answers as the Dogs easily moved the ball up and down the field.

Curran Edland capped the scoring with a nice goal in the 60th minute before Whitefish cleared the bench. Even the second unit controlled the game, not giving Hamilton an inch en route to a 7-0 win.

At Libby, Whitefish again took little time in flexing their strength as defending champs and the team to beat in the Northern A conference. Donaldson scored off an assist from Edland in the 6th minute to set the pace. Edland then tallied on a penalty kick and scored again off an assist from Janni in the 33rd minute.

Janni and Donaldson each found the net in the second half to wrap up the scoring in the 5-0 victory.

Whitefish travels east this week to take on Park High in Livingston and Belgrade.
