Vote smart

| October 30, 2012 7:35 AM

Is it any wonder that people get disillusioned with politics? The many negative ads and nasty campaigns now on the airwaves and in print make us want it all to end, the sooner the better.

A phone call from a young woman in Columbia Falls last week gave me a glimmer of hope. She wanted to know my stand on several issues because she’d been listening to some of these negative remarks. We had a nice conversation about bills, votes and visions.

I have always erred on the side of the taxpayer and appreciate her and others who ask the tough questions, even if we have to agree to disagree on some issues. More voters should be like her.

Be informed and cast your ballot next Tuesday. Our state and nation are depending on you.
