Tamarack Time set for this Saturday

Homemade chili, bread, cookies, and more will compete in 14 different categories during this year’s Tamarack Time! on Saturday, Oct. 13 in downtown Bigfork.

Entries may be dropped off at their category’s location at 11 a.m. this Saturday, judging begins at noon and tasting begins at 1 p.m.

The categories and chairpersons are:

• Appetizers: Nancy Kuhn at ShowThyme!, 837-3083.

• Breads and jams: Sue Hanson at Montana Adventure Sports, 837-5323.

• Casseroles: Vilma Chelmers at The Jug Tree, 837-4841.

• Chili: Christine Vandenberg at the Bigfork Center of Performing Arts, 837-7329

• Chocolate desserts: Debbie McCormick at Mosaic, 755-2903

• Non-chocolate desserts: Melissa Davis at Twin Birch Square, 250-3472

• Cookies: Christine Buckner at Eva Gates, 257-6661

• Ethnic: Carolyn Vale at Pocketstone Café, 890-1885

• Kids: Cathy Gaiser at Owney’s, 249-9598

• Pies: Lynn Woods at Bigfork Station, 756-6995

• Pickles: Cheryl Richmond at Eric Thorsen Gallery, 805-844-0981

• Potatoes: Jennifer Graham at Wink & Company, 837-2623

• Soups: Charlotte French at Donna Shanahan’s Interiors, 837-2036

• Stews: Al Logan at Collage Gallery, 837-3600

In addition to the tasting event, there will be a pumpkin carving for kids in the Double Eagle Courtyard at noon. For more information about the pumpkin carving, call Sean and Melissa Bonnet at 837-0811 or 212-3073.

The Essential Stuff Project will provide an apple press for anyone to use to make his or her own apple cider on Mosaic’s patio. Participants just need to provide their own apples and a container for their cider.

Tamarack Time! Membership is $4 per person.
