Second man charged with having sex with a minor

A second Great Falls man has been charged with having sex last year with a 14-year-old girl who ran away from Columbia Falls.

David Cordice, 35, was charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent after allegedly having sex with the girl on two occasions in a Great Falls motel. He faces a prison sentence of life or from 4 to 100 years and a fine up to $50,000 if convicted.

According to Cascade County District Court documents, Great Falls police responded to the Central Motel on July 28, 2011, for a report of two men threatening to assault a third man. The girl was found in a motel room with the third man, who turned out to be Cordice.

Cordice identified the two men, whom the officers located hiding in a utility closet. The two men said they had come to the motel to confront Cordice because he was having sex with the girl and knew she was a minor.

The girl was initially hesitant to speak, but when informed of what the two men had said, she commented, “Well, none of these guys are innocent.”

The girl told the officers she ran away from her home in Columbia Falls about two weeks earlier and ended up in Great Falls. She said Justin Cohn, 32, one of the two men found in the utility closet, had arranged for her bus transportation.

The girl said she stayed her first night in Great Falls with Cohn and initially told him she was 17 years old. Cohn allegedly took the girl to Spoons Bar, where they had sexual intercourse in the restroom. The girl later told Cohn she was actually 14 years old, and Cohn had sexual intercourse with her again at his residence.

Cohn was charged with one count of felony sexual intercourse without consent back in May and faces the same penalties as Cordice if convicted.
