Solid Waste Board Meeting about Bigfork’s dump site

The Bigfork dump site is on the Solid Waste Board’s agenda for their meeting on Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. This meeting is the time for Bigfork residents to tell the board their opinion about the planned removal of the green box site.

The meeting will be held at 4098 Highway 93 North, Kalispell. For more information, call 758-5910 or go to flathead.mt.gov/waste.

CASA Christmas Concert

A “Spirit of Christmas” concert will be held on on Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Glacier High School Performance Hall to raise funds for Voices for CASA and Flathead Valley food banks.

Penni Chisholm and Sandee Sauer will host an evening of musical offerings celebrating the spirit of the season while raising money and awareness of the plight of abused and neglected children in our community.

All concert patrons are asked to bring non-perishable food to donate to the Flathead Valley food banks.

Tickets can be purchased at Glacier Bank in Bigfork, Whitefish, Kalispell, and Columbia Falls, The Toggery in Kalispell and Whitefish, Freedom Bank in Columbia Falls, Laurie’s Deli in Columbia Falls, and Colter Coffee in Kalispell.

Sliter Park Memorial Project

The Community Foundation for a Better Bigfork is taking orders for bricks for the Sliter Park Memorial Project. The 4-by-8-inch bricks allow for two lines of text consisting of 16 characters, including spaces and periods. Bricks are $50 each, but additional bricks are $40 each after ordering two or more. Flathead COunty Library

Christmas Tea

The Kalispell Montana Women’s Connection is having Christmas tea at 301 West Wyoming Street, Kalispell, on Dec. 11 at 11:30 a.m.

Guests will be able to listen to David Graham play classical guitar and share a cup of tea with world traveler guest speaker Arden Holmes.

BHS basketball meeting and

scrimmage

Parents of Bigfork High School basketball players have a meeting and a blue vs. white scrimmage on Nov. 30 at the BHS gym. The parent meeting begins at 6 p.m., girls scrimmage at 6:45 p.m. and boys scrimmage at 7:15 p.m.

Pachyderm Club

The Glacier Pachyderm Club’s next meeting is set for Nov. 30 at noon at the Red Lion in Kalispell. Their speaker will be Gib Bissell of the Aero Inn and a board member of the Kalispell Tourism Business Improvement District to speak about the status and impact on the local economy of the Kalispell City Airport.

Lunch is available for purchase and all are welcome to attend.

Windows 7 Class

A class on how to navigate Windows 7 will be offered at the Bigfork Library on Dec. 6 from 10-11 a.m. Participants will have hands-on training in using folders, files, and personalizing their computer.

BSAC Committee Opening

The Board of County Commissioners is requesting letters from citizens interested in serving on the Bigfork Stormwater Advisory Committee (BSAC).

There is currently one opening on the committee.

BSAC provides important assistance to the Board of Commissioners related to the Bigfork Stormwater Project and is currently focused on implementing education and outreach activities to promote responsible management of community stormwater runoff to protect water quality in Flathead Lake.

Interested citizens may send a letter of interest and qualifications to Flathead County Commissioners Office, 800 South Main, Kalispell, MT 59901 or submit an email to enelson@flathead.mt.gov on or before Dec. 14 at 4 p.m.

Contra Dance

The Flathead Senior Center in Kalispell is having a Contra dance on Dec. 1 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Morna Leonard will be calling.
