| November 28, 2012 8:40 AM

Clara IsaBella DeVall (Larson), 93, passed away Nov. 24, 2012 at the Whitefish Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Great Falls to parents Eric and Millie (Sletten) Larson on Feb. 9, 1919. Her family moved to Whitefish while she was a toddler and she spent the remainder of her life there. She had two brothers, Melvin and Ernie Larson. Her father worked for the City of Whitefish in the Public Works Department.

Clara married Joe DeVall on May 11, 1938. Joe was a power boat racer in the early days of the Whitefish regatta. She loved the outdoors and hiked many of the trails in Glacier Park. She was known for her determination to continue walking and exercising up to within a few months of her passing.

Clara raised three children, Lillie Mae, Carol Lea and Jerry. She was a sweet and kind lady and loved by all who knew her.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the staff and nurses at the Whitefish Care and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care given to Clara during her stay. We would also like to thank Judy Halsey, Clara’s lifelong friend who was always there for her.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; a daughter, Carol Lea, and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Lillie Mae Campbell of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and a son, Jerry DeVall of Somers; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family plans to have a private memorial for Clara later this coming summer.
