There’s been an outpouring of support for a Columbia Falls teenager suffering from cancer as the community comes together for Taylor's Wish.

Taylor Peterson, a 17-year-old senior at Columbia Falls High School, has rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare malignant tumor of the muscles that are attached to the bones.

Peterson is a popular member of the Wildkat volleyball team. She started treatment initially for a different form of cancer in her mouth last year.

Maureen and Tien Windauer, of Tien’s Place in Columbia Falls, have organized an auction and benefit for Peterson to be held at the restaurant this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a silent auction of many items, including an Allen Jimmerson painting, a quilt, gift certificates, a free teeth whitening and many more items.

The restaurant will also have a limited menu that day with spaghetti, sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour wontons, chicken chow mein, Tien’s moes and egg rolls and 100 percent of the proceeds going toward the effort.

Supporters can also bid online and make donations to the effort at www.32auctions.com/taylorraepeterson. Maureen said donations have already been received from individuals as far away as New York.
