Tip o' the hat to the Bigfork Elves

Once again our village of Bigfork is ‘dressed’ for the season. It was my pleasure to join with the 2012 version of the Bigfork Elves in the fun of putting up the Christmas greenery and lights. As many years as I have been involved with the Bigfork Elf Force, I am always impressed with the wonderful turnout of volunteer elves that come together to make our town ready for Christmas.

I am grateful to our “Secretary of Decorating”, Doug Averill, for overseeing another successful operation. Kudos should also go to Deb Kampsula for her diligent attention to the endless details involved with assigning work areas, ordering lights, coordinating garland deliveries, and the many other things that have to be dealt with in order to make things come together without a hitch.

There are many others who have contributed to the success of the project year after year, and their continued involvement does not go unnoticed. The assistance of the CenturyTel employees who have helped decorate the bridge over the years has been incredible, and the lift truck from Optimum has provided help for other high places. Credit should be given to the “Bow Ladies” who add the red color to the many trees that line the streets, and we can’t overlook the Lady Lions who serve chili provided by the Masons.

All in all, our “Christmas City by the Bay” is the result of a most admirable example of a community working together, and I am pleased to be a part of that community. Thank you all.
