Tip o' the hat to alll who support the museum

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors of the Bigfork Museum of Art and History, I would like to thank everyone who came out and supported us at our community dinner — “Meatballs for the Museum.”

When Gordon and Marilyn Graham originally suggested the idea, we all agreed it would be nice to combine a fundraising event for the museum with the opportunity to provide a fun, family-oriented evening for the community of Bigfork.

Gordon and Marilyn worked tirelessly to organize the event. First Interstate Bank, Glacier Bank and Flathead Bank provided financial assistance to cover our costs. Harvest Foods, Brookie’s Cookies and Redneck Brand Smoked Meats all graciously provided food items. Little did Derek Vandeberg know how — interesting — the cooking experience was going to be when he agreed to make the homemade sauce and meatballs!

DeeDee Cooper, Betty Violette and Marnie Forbis helped slice, dice and stir in the Community United Methodist Church’s kitchen. The Bigfork Lady Lions came to the Swan River Community Hall and helped set up, serve and clean up afterwards — we couldn’t have done it without them!

David Vale and his barbershop group, the Men With No Name, provided a musical backdrop, and we fed around 150 people over the course of two hours. It was a crazy, crazy day, and we hope to do it again next year!

Derek’s recipe came from his grandmother, and it is posted on the museum’s website if you would like to recreate the dinner at home, www.bigforkmu seum.org.

Again, thank you to everyone who supported us in this endeavor.

Christine Vandeberg,

Bigfork
