'The Nutcracker' returns to the Flathead

The Northwest Ballet Company in Kalispell will present its 19th annual performance of “The Nutcracker” at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts over Thanksgiving Day weekend.

Principal dancers are Riley Freeman as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Morgan Sego as the Snow Queen and McKenna Miller as the Dew Drop. Directed by Marisa Roth, the ballet will be performed in a fantasized European style castle hall designed by Bigfork artist Linda Ensign.

Show times are Friday, Nov. 23, at 2 and 8 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 24, at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 25, at 4 p.m.

Tickets for reserved seating are available now until show days at the Kalispell Grand Hotel, in Kalispell, or at the Bigfork Theater box office one hour before the performances start. Tickets are $20 adults, $17 seniors 65 and over, and $15 children 12 and under.

The ever-popular Sugar Plum Fairy Parade will follow the 2 p.m. matinees on Friday and Saturday. For more information, call the Dance Art Center at 755-0760.
