Generosity needs recognized

We all are endowed with interests and passions that occupy us beyond our careers or day-to-day lives. Whether it is sports, outdoor enthusiasm or education, you rarely have to look far to find a not-for-profit organization backing a wide array of these interests. It is with many of these organizations that we are able to see our communities evolve and grow with strength.

It is by means of active participation and fiscal contributions that entities such as these are able to thrive. We in the Flathead Valley are blessed with a population that actively participates in both of these traditions. We are blessed with a population, whether full time residents or seasonal, that is eager to give of themselves for the betterment of our community.

Through the gift of time and talents, whether a lot or a little, we all benefit. Through financial gifts, small or large, we all benefit. These gifts are frequent in this valley and they deserve recognition that is too often overlooked, and even at times politicized. We should take the time to recognize everyone that gives of themselves and their resources, and we certainly should not trivialize motives.

Thank you to all community members who actively participate in their passions and interests. After all, we all benefit.
