Large corporate interstests and money control legislation

I am writing this exactly one week before the election.

America got exactly what it deserves at this point in time. And this goes for every position and level of political power.

There can be no mistake in this. Some people, of course, are happy, some sad and probably a bit angry.

But one thing we can take from this most costly and explosively negative campaign is that unless dramatic and far-reaching changes are put in place in our whole electoral process, the real ‘will of the people’ will not be represented in our politics as this elected man sits behind the oval office in the White House for the next four years.

The huge money —Selfish interests and the greed, which pervade our entire national and often state political systems, rules the day.

It is too bad that we cannot put ourselves a few years hence in time right now; view this campaign objectively from hindsight; see exactly what I am talking about here, and be able to take action through massive and effective actions.

“We The People” see clearly ‘after the fact.’ “We The People” are not organized and solidified for planning with vision, forethought, political power, and the ability to control legislation.

Large corporate interests, organizations, and huge money interests are. This is what I would call The Great Divide. It is wide. It is devastating to democracy. It is plutocracy. It is killing our nations health and standing in this world.

These are not just my thoughts. I am not wise enough nor involved enough to assert these thoughts on my own. I do read widely. I do comprehend the difference between right and wrong. And in this I am not unlike many, many Americans. I am just an average citizen.

But I do know what a democratic system of government means and is based upon. And what we have in place, right now in America, is not a democratic system of government.
