Fill the Pool Bowl by Bowl Dinner and Auction

Mission Valley Aquatics is holding an auction in an effort to pay for pool equipment and the construction of the new aquatic center in Polson on Nov. 10.

Auction items include vacations, local art and services, home furnishings, ski and stay packages and Griz tickets. Go to mvaquatics.org for a list of auction items.

The event kicks off at 4 p.m. with a silent auction, the soup dinner starts at 5 p.m. All of the soup bowls are hand-painted by local artists and community members.

The live auction will begin at 7 p.m.

VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT FOR Lake County BOARDS

Lake County currently seeks volunteers to serve on the following boards:

•Polson City-County Planning Board

• Planning & Zoning Commission

• Lake County Planning Board

• Board of Adjustment

Floating Docks Need Removed

The Lake County Planning Department would like to remind lakefront property owners on Swan Lake and Lake Mary Ronan that floating docks must be removed from the water by Dec. 1 as required by the county’s Lakeshore Protection Regulations. Adopt a Senior Pet Month

November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month at the Flathead County Animal Shelter. The shelter is offering a “Seniors for Seniors” adoption special for senior citizens.

Senior dogs and senior cats (seven years and older) will have a $10 adoption fee for those who are over 55 years old. A $15 county dog license must be purchased for every adopted dog.

The shelter is at 225 Cemetery Road in Kalispell and is open Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Quilt Co. grand opening

Lakeside Quilt Co. will celebrate their grand opening at their new showroom in downtown Polson on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10.

Quilting demonstrations from well known quilters and opportunities to test drive hand and computer guided quilting machines will be available.

Grand opening events will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Veteran’s Day

Lakeside Elementary School is having a Veteran’s Day Remembrance on Friday, Nov. 9 at 2:15 p.m. in the school gym. This is for all veterans and service people. Veterans should feel free to wear their uniforms if they want.

Glacier Stamp Club

The Glacier Stamp Club will meet at the Flathead County Library in Kalispell on Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Friends and visitors are welcome.

Bigfork Lady Lions

The Bigfork Lady Lions meet on the first Monday of each month at Chris’ Tea Cottage at 5 p.m. The group is starting their 51st year of giving to Flathead Valley organizations and people in need and are always eager to have more people get involved. For more information, call Ann at 837-0150.

Story Hour at West Shore Community Library

Story Hour at the WSCL is held each Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. There will be fun crafts and activities for kids as well as stories.

Bigfork Library

Preschool story time is held each Wednesday at 10 a.m. for stories, songs, crafts, music and more. Each week features a unique theme.

Bigfork Rotary

Rotary Club of Bigfork meets on every Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Community United Church, 750 Electric Ave, Bigfork. Lunch is served by Great Northern Foods followed by a speaker or club news in the last 20 minutes. Stop by for a lunch meeting to learn about Rotary and what they do for the community.

Hiking club

The Swan Ranger Hiking Club meets Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast at the Echo Lake Cafe and departs at 8:30 a.m. for a partial day outing in the Swan Range. Information, logistics and archived photo-reports can be found at www.swanrange.org. All skill levels are welcome.

BNI meeting

The Greater Bigfork chapter of BNI meets from 7-8:15 a.m. every Tuesday at Blondie’s in the Branding Iron Station. Visitors are always welcome. BNI is a business networking group focused on building eachothers businesses through referrals.
