Desert Mountain TV translators will be converted to digital operation on Friday, May 25. The channel line up will remain the same, but viewers will receive two additional channels from KCFW.

Viewers will need a digital TV set or a set-top converter box in order to continue to receive these television stations. In addition, all viewers will need to do a “scan” on their digital TVs or converter boxes.

It will not be possible to receive any of these channels without first doing a scan. Go to the menu or follow the instructions with your converter box to initiate the scan. Viewers with converter boxes will need to turn their TV sets to channel 3 prior to doing the scan. No one should need to replace their antenna if it was working properly prior to the changeover.

Once the scan is complete, the channel numbers will be as follows: KCFW will be on channel 9.1, MeTV will be on 9.2, ThisTV will be on 9.3. KREM will be on 2.1, KXLY will be on 4.1, and KSPS will be on 7.1. More channels will be added later this summer. Set-top converter boxes are available at Radio Shack, Walmart, Target, Best Buy and online.
