Miles Community College head men’s basketball coach Chase Tait has announced the signing of a pair of Montana products, Jackson Boese (Bigfork) and Connor Smyle (Billings).

Boese, a 6-foot-9 post player from Bigfork High School, averaged eight points and nearly 10 boards a contest last season for BHS. With his performance last year, he was named District 7B Second Team All-Conference and participated in both the HIT All-Star Tournament and the Crowne Plaza Senior Classic back in March. He’s a three-year letter winner for the Vikes.

“Jackson is a type of player that once he can dedicate his whole year to basketball he will make amazing strides. His length and size cause problems for other teams especially on the defensive side of the ball and rebounding,” said Kurt Paulson, BHS’s head boys basketball coach. Also adding, “I saw great progress out of Jackson last season and his touch around the basketball is really improving each day. For a kid his size he moves great and can finish at the hoop. He will be a great addition to MCC and his best basketball is ahead of him as he continues to mature and lift weights.”

Smyle, a 6-foot guard from Skyview High School, graduated in 2011 and is returning to basketball after taking a year off. As a senior for the Falcons, he averaged 10 points a contest in 19 games, hitting 31 three pointers in 19 games. He also handed out two assists and two rebounds per game as well.

This past season MCC went 26-7 overall and reached the Region IX semifinals where they fell to the eventual tournament champion Otero Junior College.
