Online voting can help Bigfork win $10,000
Bigfork High School is competing in a Facebook contest sponsored by Ford that pits 64 schools across the country against each other for who produced the best video.
The three-minute videos have to answer the question, “What will you do with the funds raised at your Drive One 4 UR School event?”
“Drive One 4 UR School” is a program that pairs Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealerships with local high schools to conduct test-drive fundraising events.
For every valid test drive, Ford donates $20 to the participating high schools, up to $6,000.
Bigfork High School previously had its test-drive session with Valley Ford in Evergreen; on Saturday the test-drive day at Valley Ford involves Flathead and Glacier high schools, with money going to the Flathead/Glacier Booster Club.
Bigfork was one of 64 schools whose videos were selected to participate in the video contest, which features a first prize of $10,000 as well as smaller prizes for the earlier rounds. After two rounds, Bigfork has made it to the Sweet 16.
Videos go head-to-head against each other for one day only during the competition, allowing you to vote for your favorite. In true bracket style, the video with the most votes at the end of each day’s voting will move on to the next round.
Voting is now under way in the Sweet 16 Round, but it’s not certain when Bigfork will compete next. The round lasts until May 16, and Bigfork’s video could be featured starting as soon as today.
To help Bigfork High School, you need to check back every day to see if it has been selected to compete that day. When you see the Bigfork video posted, send messages to your friends on social media such as Facebook and Twitter and get them all to vote.
All you have to do is “like” the Drive One 4 UR School Facebook page to vote for the Bigfork video. The URL for the contest is www.facebook.com/DriveOne4URSchool/app_259919777418398
You can watch the Bigfork video on YouTube right away at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moeGAtSeYUY but remember that liking the video on YouTube does not count as a vote. You need to vote on the DriveOne4URSchool Facebook page.
If Bigfork makes it through the Sweet 16, it will then continue during the Round of Eight from May 16 to May 22, and try to reach the Final Four (May 22 through May 24) and the Final Contest (May 24-May 25). Voting begins at 7 a.m. MDT for each round’s game and ends at 7 a.m. MDT the following day.
