C-Falls swimmers do well at Bitterroot meet

Columbia Falls opened its swimming season at the Bitterroot meet in Hamilton on June 16-17. The Wildcats qualified 18 swimmers for the finals on Sunday.

Russell Albin had a great weekend, winning the male 9-10 age group high-point trophy. Albin won the 100 free style with a time of 1:27.81 and took second in the 50 backstroke with a time of 50.04.

Colton Babcock broke the pool record in the 50-yard breast stroke with a time of 36.01 seconds. He also took first in the 50 butterfly with a time of 30.75.

Cooper Babcock took first in the breast stroke with a time of 58.08. Lexi Brunz took first in the 400 freestyle with a time of 5:56.63.

Bryce Dunham notched a victory in the 25 meter freestyle with a time of 21.54. Zayne Friar swam well, taking second in the 50 fly with a time of 31.94.

Tyler Langton had a great meet, with first-place finishes in the 50 free and 50 backstroke with times of 34.50 and 44.14 respectively.

Garrett Role took second in the 200 intermediate medley with a time of 2:49.30. He also took second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:21.81.

The Cats travel to Plains this weekend. Team scores were unavailable.
