Meet Candidate Rodrik Brosten running for HD#9, Bigfork area. Rodrik Brosten was born and raised in the Swan River Area.  His schooling was in the public schools of Swan River and Bigfork. These schools prepared him well for his college education.  His family has always been supportive of Montana public schools. His grandmother was one of the early teachers at the Mountain Brook School. Other members of his family served on local school boards.

Through the years when there have been school board elections, Rodrik was always there to support the nearby school, even though he did not have children of his own. He believes our public education is for all of our citizens. It provides an equal opportunity for all.

Rodrik believes the actions of the GOP in our Montana Legislature to continue to cut funding will harm our education system. The school funding has not kept up with the scientific research and technology to meet the current needs to complete with other countries around the world.

There’s been a movement to have “charter schools” in Montana. Rodrik wants you to know he is against them.

There is only a small percentage of charter schools that are successful. Charter schools use public money but are managed like a private school. The opportunities for the students are not equal. It’s not the right way to use our tax dollars.

Send Rodrik Brosten to Helena on Nov. 6 to support the necessary funding for a progressive Montana education system in the 21st Century.
