The annual Bigfork Relay for Life will be held at Bigfork High School’s football field and track on Friday, July 20, at 5 p.m. for cancer research, cancer patients and cancer surivivors.

The American Cancer Society defines a “survivor” as anyone who has been told the phrase, “you have cancer.”

Relay for Life is a participatory reminder to survivors and their loved ones that ACS is working relentlessly to raise awareness, fund the on-going advancements in cancer research, and find cures and celebrate survivors.

The Bigfork Relay for Life begins with just such a celebration. Survivors are given their identifying t-shirts, a special gift and treated to a fabulous dinner donated by caring community members, businesses and even some fellow survivors.

As an official start to the 12-hour event, survivors will take to the track for the inaugural honorary lap.

Bigfork Relay for Life wants to honor and celebrate all cancers survivors.

For others who have yet to register, call survivorship chair Susan Kratt at 837-5035 or 250-7072, or come to the BHS football field and track on Friday, July 20, by 5 p.m. and join fellow survivors, family and friends, in the fundraising celebration.
