| July 11, 2012 8:13 AM

A. Raleigh Flint, 78, went to his Saviour Oct. 4, 2011, in Tennessee.

He was born in Whitefish on Jan. 5, 1934, to Roy and Sadie Flint. His family included sister Luella Flint McFadden, deceased, and brothers Dean Flint, of Madison, Tenn., and Robert Flint, of Post Falls, Idaho.

He met the love of his life Sue Reimche on a blind date in 1964 while working for the university as a night watchman. Sue was the resident assistant in the girls dorm. After a year of Sue teaching at Boston Academy and Raleigh teaching in Waukegan Ill., they were married on Aug. 15, 1965, in Grandview Flats, B.C.

Raleigh was a devoted and loving father to son Fred Flint and wife Maria, daughter Jeanine Flint-Smith and husband Isaac, and daughter and Flora Flint. He loved being grandpa to his five grandkids, Bryen, Lissette, Cynthia, Braiden and Breanna. He was a father-figure, positive role model and mentor to countless other young people.

A memorial in Raleigh’s name will be held on July 14, 2012, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 269 First Avenue EN, Columbia Falls, at 4 p.m. with a potluck following the ceremony.
